I am only posting a little bit for now to see if you guys are interested and then I will give more information about it lol. Plus since I took so long updated Broken Road and Unbreakable Bond (member those...lol) This is the least I could do...it;s not smut...but it's angst...second best!

The Break up


Natalie couldnt believe it had come to thisshe didnt look back as she shut the door of his room. It was over, it was really over. She walked a few steps, her eyes blurry from the tears that streamed out. Her purse slipped out of her grasp, and she crumbled to the floor with it.



John sat on the couch with his head in his hands, tears stung the burns on his face, but he didnt care. The pain of his burns, was in no contest to the pain he felt about what just happened. He looked up at the door, she was gone. Gone.


He stood not being able to grasp the fact that tomorrow morning he wouldnt see her face when he woke up. He screwed up big this time. Bigger than before. Staring at the bed made him want to screamthen maybemaybe he would wake up from this terrible dream.



Natalie gathered her things and fled the hotel, anywhere but there. Anywhere but Llanview, she needed to get away. She didnt get far when she ran straight into something. WhoaNatalie, Natalie! What happened? She looked up to see Vincent, how come he was always there? She didnt say anything as she brushed past him.

She felt his strong arm on hers, stopping her. Let go of me Vincent! She said sternly.

That would be none of your business! She spat as she broke free of his grip on her arm.

NatalieNatalie He said and it gave her chills , and not the good kind. Why you gotta go and be like this I thought we were friends? Huh.

We were never friends. She said as she stepped back. He saw her face clearly now, she had been crying, her tear stained face was a good clue. And he was pretty sure it was Johns doing.

What happened Natalie? You can tell me? Is it McBain.

John felt like he had been standing there for hours. He finally reached forward and touched the soft fabric. Her stuff was still in his closet. He pulled out the garment he was touching, and remembered everything about that night. He felt the tears fall again, but didnt wipe them. The material fell loosely to the floor, and then he heard a knock at the door. She came back! He rushed the door, with a relieved smile on his face. But when he opened it, his hopes were crushed. What are you doing here?

I hmmmm came to see how you were? She said as she invited herself in, John gave her a look as she stepped in to his room.

And that was? He asked. Youand Natalie He looked at her, it barely happened hours ago and he was pretty sure Natalie hadnt broadcasted it across Llanview. where did you hear that?

Marty looked away from him, I over heard.. She walked away a little bit and could see the closet open and a womans robe on the floor. Over heard where, well whatever you over heard was probably a lie.

You and Natalie are still together? She asked spinning fast around. Which made John curious. He didnt answer her question. Why are you really here Marty?

I told you, to see if you were alright.

Well Im fine. He said keeping a straight face. So you and Natalie..?

Were good. He wasnt sure why he lied. But it came out. There was something about her that seemed off.

Ohhhh ok well I guess I will leave you now. He gave her a genuine smile as he led her out. He stayed by the door, and listened she was still there and on the phone.

Part 2



Johns eyes widened. Her words still thick in his head, We need to fix this? It was set up. Someone wanted them to break up. He backed up and sat on the couch needing to think it through. Someone had really planned it, everything, the whole issue with Marty, Miles everything! Wait Marty was in on it.who else? All he could think about was Natalie. She had actually thought he had feelings for Marty, how could she ever think that. This was all so confusingit was true they did seem to fight more than anything lately. The last fight being the worst, but the fights usually led to Marty and VincentVincent! He said as his jaw tightened.

He stood up from the couch wincing in pain from getting up to fast. He had a throbbing head ache but none of that mattered he would find Vincent.


Natalie cried silently, as she set the picture down. She didnt know why she brought it, it was just making the pain worse. She tried not to think about what he was doing, Was he crying? She hated her next thought, Or was he being comforted by Marty Sayebrook? The thought of that made her mad, she grabbed the picture of them and threw it across the room. It was a good release of the anger she was feeling. She wiped the fresh tears that came on her face and hugged herself tightly.



John was a man on a mission, and his mission was to find Vincent. He was at that Palace now, and brushed past Cris and Evangeline and found his target. John grabbed him roughly by the collar and threw him up against the wall.

Was this your way of getting to her huh? You had to come up with some scheme?

What? Vincent said out of breath, Man get off me! Vincent said struggling.

John felt himself being pulled off of Vincent, and looked to Cris. As much as I would love to see you kill this Asshole, you cant.

Vincent brushed himself off, and was grinning. John lunged at him again, and felt Cris once again stop him. Guys stop. What is going on here? Evangeline came up watching the altercation. John?

John didnt say anything he just backed out and left. Evangeline looked at Cris, and he nodded, as he ran after John.


John made it out of the palace and heard Cris come up behind him. John, hey wait up, what was that back there?

John stopped and pursed his lips. He didnt say anything.

John? Is it Natalie did that Son of a Bitch hurt her?

No John said as he sighed. He saw a bench and sat down. And Cris sat next to him. I did, I hurt her.

We broke up. John said, trying to fight the tears that stung, actually admitting it hurt even more. But it was all a hoax, a set up.

Natalie couldnt move, the pain seemed to be hitting her over and over again. If felt like it did when she thought John was dead. But he wasnt dead, just a jack ass. How could she have ever loved him, who was she kidding she still did. More tears fell as she realized that she always would. She starting thinking about when she would return to Llanview, would he be with Marty?

Her purse started to move, she knew it was her phone going off some one was calling her. She stood up, and looked it was Jess.

How did younever mind. I am fine, let mom know I am okay, I dont know when I am coming home I will talk to you later bye Natalie said as she hung up her phone. She hated hanging up on her sister, but Jessica had a baby to worry about and that was more important than her sister with a broken heart.

John went to Llanfair and Jessica answered with baby Bree, Hey Wheres Natalie? He asked, smiling at her and the baby, trying to stay calm.

I um dont know. Jessica didnt know whether or not to say anything to him, but her worry for her sister ruled out any lying, I just got off the phone with her, she wouldnt say where she wasbut John I am worried.

So am I He said running his hand over his face.

John didnt even acknowledge it he just looked at her, Look I am an idiot and there is something big going on and I really need to find Natalie, so we can figure it out. She uh John hesitated, Shes become like a partner, you know I can always go to her, on a case and she can give me insight

John felt like a chicken with its head cut off, he was pacing around Angel Square, Where would she go? He was still thinking when he heard foot steps near him. Why McBain, you look agitated. John looked up to see Miles's gloating face.

Marty rushed over to his room at the palace. She knocked on his door frantically, Miles, Miles, open up. The door opened and Miles answered. Mrs. Sayebrook, patience is a virtue.

John was sitting in his room, he ran a hand over his face. He heard the alarm for his pills and smiled. She still set the alarm. He heard his phone and answered it.

Oh thank god Johnnyits Natalie.

John stood up, Roxy. What happened? Where is she?

Shes at Asas cabin, and there was just this big cave in around there, I think she might be in the middle of it. Roxy said doing her best acting. As all the others looked on, impressed.

Part 3


Marty had it, the tape with Jessica and Nash together. Miles told her exactly where to put it where Antonio would find it. Destroying Jessica and Antonios relationship. Destroying Jessica which she hated, but it was the only way to get her husband back.


John raced up to the cabin, which was so familiar. He remembered doing the exact same thing, years ago. He got out of the car and sighed, everything seemed to be okay. But he had to make sure and he had to talk to her.

Rex watched John get out, and parked where he couldnt see him.



John walked up to the door and knocked. He waited a little while and heard movement coming from inside, and the door flung open. She looked shocked to see him.

How did you find me?

Roxy called me. Natalie kept a straight face. And thought to herself, I never shouldnt have told her should have known! She said you might be in danger, and there was a cave in?

Cave inno. Natalie said looking out and around mockingly And it figures youd come when you think I might be in danger, nothing ever changes huh John. Always come to save the day, what was this one last rescue before the road?

Thats not the only reason I came up here, Natalie I need to talk to you.

Here it comesis this where you tell me that you never thought you would have feelings for Marty and that you feel guilty.

John ran outside, wanting to hit something. She was pissed, and he didnt think he could ever get through to her. He went to his car and sat for a while his head in his hands, tugging on his hair slightly frustration over taking him. He hit the steering wheel hard, not caring about the throbbing pain that came from it. He went to start the car.but he heard a funny sound. He tried it again, and got the same sound.


John got out of the car and checkedWhat?

Natalie was sitting on the couch fighting the tears. When she heard another knock. She had a feeling it was him. She gathered herself, and opened the door.

John shut the door behind him. Her back was to him, he didnt say anything he just stared at her back. He wanted nothing more than to console her and hold her. But he knew that would only aggravate her more. He smelled the air and smiled. Macaroni and Cheese just like years ago.

I hope not 3 and a half years old boxes? he asked making a joke. He celebrated inside when he saw her smile. God she was beautiful.

Nothey were somewhat new. She said grinning slightly. Want some?

Rex went back to Llanfair, Done.

So hes there now, stranded? Jessica asked smiling. And Rex nodded, Yeah and those two, have some serious stuff to work out, you guys should have seen themYou know this could all be a bad idea, we could very well find McBains body there tomorrow morning.

John looked at his macaroni watching Natalie, she was on the other side of the room staring at the fireplace, lost in her own head. He didnt know how to bring it up, about Marty trying to break them up, but now was as good time as any.

The fire is getting low were going to need some more wood. Natalie said before he could bring it up. She grabbed her coat and started heading to the door.

Whoahey. John said getting up, He lightly brushed her arm, to stop her. Ill do ityou stay in here where its warm.

Natalie stepped back away from his touch. It was too much. You dont need to be out there in your condition John, especially carrying heavy things. She tightened up her coat, and ignored him going out the door.

Natalie came back struggling she was only able to get five, and she was barely holding those. See thats why I should have gonelook at you. John said grabbing the top three from her. It was painful but he didnt care. I was handling it. She said setting down the other two on the floor by the fireplace.

John put one log in with fire and moved it around, feeling the heat on his face scared him a bit. He didnt remember much about his accident, but feeling the heat made him feel the pain of it all again and he stepped back. You okay? She said coming up behind him.

Yeahfine. He said she was close. Their eyes were connecting for he first time in a while. John never wanted to look away. How could he be so stupid, so stupid to trust Marty Sayebrook. It was the biggest mistake of his life.





Marty was outside Miles door, she knocked hard waiting for him to answer. He opened the door, and gave her a look, Well

Marty walked passed him, I uh hmmm I did it. She said fighting tears. She couldnt believe she actually did it, right now at this moment Antonio was probably watching the phony tape, which meant his and Jessicas marriage was over.

Miles said grinning with his ear pressed the the phone, Make sure her poor precious husband is here in the morning Miles was about to hang up, Oh and hey, I want her...you got meand by her you know who I am talking about He said as he hung up the phone with a evil smile.


The Break Up Part 4



Natalie had to look away from his deep gaze. Its getting late, Let me get some pillows for you, and pull out the couch bed. Natalie said looking away from his stare. And walking off. No you dont have to, I can do it just tell me where things are. John said not wanting her to go out of her way for him.

Too late She said coming back with a stack of blankets and a few pillows. These should be enough for you. She set them on a small chair by the couch and then went to pull it out. John went to the other side and they got the couch out. Natalie started to make the bed with Johns help. Their hands met in the middle of the bed. And John caressed her hand. She took her hand back. He looked up, Dont touch me! She told him.

Im sorry. He said, I thought we were uh

What making up? well your wrong! I will never be over it John! she said raising her voice even higher. You trusted that bitch over me, after everything I did for you what the hell is that? tears were welling up in her and she hated that, she didnt want to look weak in front of him, but the words just kept pouring out of her mouth, You DIED. Natalie said, starting to sob. It took everything in him to not go to her, You died, and You know what the worst thing was?! Before the accident She was still sobbing through words, Before the accident you didnt say you loved me, But I felt it, I really felt it. And when you came back, you told me, and I was so happy, but you changed, and not for the good, And I just couldnt feel it anymore. I cant feel it anymore. Natalie said wiping her face, and walking away to the back bedroom slamming the door.




I wonder whats happening. Rex asked laying across the couch in Llanfair making himself at home, Vikki stared with a sideways look at him, and turned to Jessica who was at the doorway, I hope we hear something soon. She said nudging towards Rex and Roxy.

Roxy was tapping everything to see if it was real. Yep gold! She said smiling as she set the picture frame down. Why have a gold picture frame? She asked.

Cause they can. Rex said looking back at her, Now leave things aloneI am. He said as his feet kicked off the side pillows on the couch. His shoes were planted on the cushions and Viki almost lost it, but she felt Jesss hand on her shoulder. Mom, Im sure well hear soon. Bear with them.they love Natalie too. She said to her mother.

Miles sat on his couch waiting for his guest. And smiled widely when he heard the knock on the door. He opened it, and grinned when he saw then man in front of him. They embraced guy style, first shaking hands and then hugging.

Yeah times has done well with you too I see.those wrinkles sure add character.

John tossed and turned in his sleep, he needed to tell her, all about how Marty and possibly Miles were at fault for them being apart. He sat up staring at the ceiling, he loved her so much, and he knew she still loved him. He heard a small moan and sat up, scared. She was standing in the doorway of the room swaying. He ran to her, as she fell in his arms. She was burning up. NatalieNatalie can you hear me? She was in and out of consciousness.

He reached for her phone that was on the counter but the service was out. And his was out also. He lifted her in his arms and laid her on the couch bed and stood back. He needed to get her temperature down. And the only thing he could think of.He knew she would be upset when she got better. But oh well, He couldnt let her die. He couldnt let her die without her knowing that he did love hermore than anything. He walked back to the small bathroom that had an old fashion bath tub in it, and he started the water, letting it fill the tub as he got up to go get her.

He picked her up, and her eyes were somewhat open, and she mumbled something but he couldnt understand. He held her tightly to him, and when he got in the bathroom he pushed down the top of the toilet and set her on top of it. She was swaying, and shivering. He lifted her turtleneck over her head, revealing her black bra the one he always loved taking off. He took her clothes off one by one desperate to get her temperature down.

John picked her up and set her in the tub gently. God her skin was on fire. She looked so fragile to him, something so not Natalie. He took the small cloth he found in one hand and held it up to her slightly, not wanting to get her hair wet. He started with her face. God, John thought, she is still as beautiful as the day I first saw her. Her teeth were chattering, and she was still in and out. John ran the cloth over her mouth he smiled to himself, Her mouth was so beautiful, he couldnt help but remember all the times he kissed her lips. And at the same time, he remembered her saying the things beforewith the same mouth that made him see what an ass he had been. And then there were words that made him weak in the knees.. All her I Love yous. He dipped the cloth again and brought it up to her shoulders as he washed her gently, like glass he was afraid if he handled her to rough she would break.

Break, John thought, well havent you already broken her heart? Johns eyes wondered down in between the valley of her breasts where her heart was, the one he broke. He stared and wished he could fix it. He brought the cloth, where his eyes fell, and felt his breathing hitch. Touching her was harder than he thought it would be, now his temperature was up. John ran a shaky hand over his browlooking at her stomach now. He started to smile imagining it growing and carrying his child, their child, conceived out of their love. He felt his eyes starting to pull lower but he realized he needed to focus his attention on the top front of her, he had to or he would loose all self control. He reached around her neck and held her head in his hand.

Speaking to her softly, Come on Natalie. He said desperate, so scared.scared of losing herforever.

The Break Up Part 5


John lifted her up out of the tub, her temp seemed to be down a little bit. He wrapped her up and sat her on the floor. Her eyes were shut, and John tried to get her to respond. He was so scared. Please you got to be okay He said. He caressed her face some and then he reached in his pocket. He looked down at it, tears stinging his eyes, as he lifted the medal, You remember when you gave me this He said to her hoping it would bring her out of it, And I told you it wasnt St. Judes. He smiled slightly. And you said nobecause I wasnt a lost cause anymore. A single tear fell down his face, nipping at the scars on his face. Wellthats because of youyou Natalie, because of you. Even when you hated me you stood by me. John sniffed his nose and sat back against the wall, bringing her against him. He ran his fingers through her hair, and leaned to kiss the side of her head. I know you always thought you were another woman to rescue to me, in the back of your mind, I know it was there, along with your insecurities.You werent you know that, you never were. And the truth is.you always rescued me.you saved me He was sobbing as he held her.


Miles and Seth went over it, So you like Natalie huh? Seth asked. I thought you hated her for what she did to Mitch? Until you actually saw her huh Seth said smiling.

A woman like that can make you easily forgive.

Natalie was still breathing which was good but for how much longer. She was very ill, and John was no doctorThat was what Michael was born to do.He was a cop.John had moved her to the bed, and was dabbing her head with a damp cloth. He relaxed when he saw her moving, she started to say something. No.he wants her not me.her John hovered over her, as once again he saw her go unconscious. But when she stared into her sisters eyes she didnt see any pain in them, they were actually light and happy. She dropped her head again thinking about it again.

It seemed like every time she stopped thinking about her marriage, a second later she was back to thinking about it. She did have feelings for Nash, but not enough to act on them and destroy her marriage. She would never do that to Antonio and their family.

The girl looked up, she was getting an order, and there was a disgusting man staring at her butt, as he asked for morebeer. Natalie definitely knew what that was like.

You want some help? Natalie asked. The girl looked confused, and was about to nod when she saw a really cute man walk in her eyes went back to Natalie and she nodded. You know your way around the bar?

Do I? Natalie said confidently. The girl couldnt keep her eyes off the new eye candy as he walked up to the bar, but his eyes were trained on Natalie. Alright, Brooke Natalie said staring at her name tag But Brooke was feeling very jealous. The good looking stranger hadnt even looked her way. I take that back, I can handle it. At the same time, John walked in. He knew she was having a meeting with Miles, and he hoped to arrive before he did, so he could observe. But he stopped right in his tracks seeing another man holding Natalie.


Part 11

Natalie pulled away from the hug. So what brings you back here in Llanview?

You guess. Natalie said smiling back. He hadnt changed at all over the years, and she couldnt; help but wonder what he thought of her. She was in love with the guy once. Her thoughts were answered when she heard him speak. You look so beautiful, so mature.

Bartender. Seth said his eyes still on Natalie. Please poor this beautiful woman a beer. The bartender, Brooke, gave Natalie a glare, as she nodded at Seth. Natalie immediately thought of the baby, her and Johns baby. She watched as Seth got her favorite, You still remember? She said beaming.

Natalie stared at his eyes when he said it, there was something in them that made her question her once boyfriend. She couldnt figure it out, so she made small talk. So is there a girl? Natalie asked she watched as Seth shook his head. Not for a while, the last one took a lot out of me.

Uh Natalie got nervous, she knew she really couldnt trust himso she would have to lie to him like everyone else, well mostly everyone. Odd he thought, he rarely got them, and rarely made them.

John waited at the docks impatiently she was 5 minutes late. His fears left him seeing her red hair blowing in the wind as she came around the corner.

Natalie was comfortable, he was leaning up against the rail, and her head was resting on his chest. Feeling it rise and fall Ohh I was suppose to meet Miles Natalie said pulling away a bit

The Break Up Part 13


Natalie made it back to Llanfair, reluctantly. She wished she could stay with John, but instead she had to keep living a lie. And on top of that, go to dinner with her ex, and her sisterwho stole her ex from her. Natalie opened the big door, and saw Jess in the foyer with Bree.

I dont think I can make it to dinner. Was the first thing out of her mouth.

Why, Jess? Natalie asked walking over to her and her niece.

Because Antonio is pushing for custody, and he is talking about how little time that I spend with Bree.

Hes what? Natalie asked, shocked that Antonio would do something like that.

Trying to get Bree, I told him NatalieI told him that it was a lieand he just called me a slut. That he wouldnt believe what I say, not ever again. And that he was going to take my daughter away from me. He said that no one would givea child to a crazy adulterer and her boyfriend who already has a record.

Oh my god Natalie said hugging them both. Let me call Seth and cancel.

A little while later they were both ready, and so was Bree in her pretty purple plaid dress. I told you Renee wouldnt mind. Natalie said And then she remembered the whole thing with Vincent, she was going to lie and say the baby was his. And John had shared the same suspicions of Seth that she did, so she told Jess her worries.

Look at this little thing Seth said smiling brightly. Natalie watched him, and he really did seem genuine when he was around Jessica, there was something about themthey always had that spark. Seth turned from Jessica and greeted Natalieand Natalie saw the change in his eyesthe differencewith Jessicashe could feel some sort of love therebut with her it felt like pure desire.

Seth pulled out their chairs. And the women sat after putting Bree in the small high chair.

Yes, waywell she is crawling and now instead of doing the normal transition to walkingshe wants to do the 100 meters. Seth was beaming listening to Jessica go on and on about her baby. Throughout the dinner the three of them including Bree talked like crazy catching up, talking about old times, and the good days.

Natalie sat by her mothers bed, holding her now frail hand. Her condition hadnt change if anything the doctors were now fearing that the heart wouldnt take. Natalie now kicked herself for shooing John out of the hospital so he could see what was going on in the Miles case. Cause the truth was she was getting used to him being there, he had been helping her a lot in the past week.

She glanced out the window seeing Jess, Nash and Bree and she smiled a little. In the beginning she wasnt fond of Nash, she thought he was just trying to mess with her sister, but now she saw itthe same thing she saw with her and John. True Love. A part of her felt bad for Antonio but another part didnt, his poor choices of not trusting her sister backfired on him, and now he was now the lonely one. When they got to the hospital Clint and Jessica were in the room, and Natalie practically ran in to her mother.

Natalie sat on the couch, arms folded waiting for her pizza. John was getting a kick out of it. Your going to burn a whole in the door.

Im hungry John, dont test me. She said not even glancing at him, and he threw his arms up in surrender. And then they heard a knock on the door, and John was relieved. Ill get it.

John opened the door, and saw the young pizza boy. Thanks. John said as he handed the kid his money. Alright. John said shutting the door, and when he turned back she was already standing.

You are hungry. He said smiling at her, but she was serious. He pulled out her pizza with all the labels and she eagerly took it from him.

John had to look away when he saw her open her pizza, it was too odd to look at. And when she pulled out a slice, and started to eat it, if thats what was called eating. She pulled all the toppings off and ate them making sure not to eat any bread.

John still stood there watching her as she now set the pizzawell bread in her box and grabbed another one. She glanced up at him seeing he hadnt moved. What?

The nurses came over with the babies, and Natalie was crying. She placed one in Johns arms and two in Natalies.

John cried more holding his son, looking at him, his small scrunched up face, as his eyes struggled to open. Natalie held their girls, still crying they were so beautiful. John didnt think he ever cried more in his lifehe kissed all three babies foreheads, and moved up to kiss Natalies lips.

Vikki came in already wiping her face, and Clint followed her in looking emotional also. John placed his boy in his grandfathers arms, and came over to Natalie just as Vikki took one of the girls. I am going to go tell Mike he has to come see his nieces and nephews. She nodded. Check on Mack John. He nodded closing the door behind them.

John caught Mike coming out of a room, his head was downJohn knew what that meant he didnt even have to ask. He watched as Michael came over to Macks wife and daughter, they already knew too. Crying loudly. Michael delivered the news and turned back around seeing John standing there. His demeanor quickly changed, there were new additions to the McBain family. So? Eventually all the family members left the room, and then it was just John, Natalie and the babies and they were in need of three names.

Both of them had strands of red It was extremely hard to tell them apart the only way was one of them was in purple and the other in pink. Natalie looked at the one in purple and instantly thought of one Zooey. John grinned. I like that.
